The smartphone app, designated J-Match, uses 2d "Quick Read" bar code technology to strengthen the relationship between the customer and the dealership, according to Jim Krakower, director of system development. "This customer/dealership bond encourages loyalty in a market fragmented by significant duplicity of purchase opportunity."

Dealers also can send text messages to a customer's smart phone to advise when the vehicle is ready for service, based on past driving patterns. And they can simply scan the window sticker to immediately set up a work/estimate order when the vehicle arrives for service without an appointment
This feature is simple to use for both the customer and the dealership, offered at no cost as part of a suite of features in the JMK system's optional bar code processing module.
"It will cement the relationship and lock the user into repeat vehicle services," adds Krakower

Innovative Combination of QR Codes and Customer Service
JMK Computerized Tire Dealer Information System has created a free smartphone app for dealers that leverages QR codes to help serve as customer service reminders
The 2D QR codes are included with the iconic oil change sticker, but when a customer or tire store scans the code, the vehicle’s service history will show up on the user’s smartphone. The system, called J-Match, will also allow the customer to then make a service appointment, get service advice or call the dealership directly, according to JMK Computerized Tire Dealer Information System
Conversely, dealer staff can use the QR code to send text messages to a customer's smartphone to advise when the vehicle is ready for service, or scan the window sticker when the vehicle arrives at the store to immediately set up a work/estimate order
“Industry press advises that in the critical 18- to 54-year-old consumer age group, smartphone use is exploding and consumers are at ease with that technology for multiple searches a day, said Jim Krakower, director of system development at JMK. “This feature is simple to use for both the customer and the dealership, and is offered at no charge as part of a suite of features in the JMK system's optional bar code processing module.
“It is a natural fit to the classic smartphone daily use pattern. It will cement the relationship and lock the user into repeat vehicle services.”
